The Force Of Hope EDC in partnership with the Ford Theatre Foundation Community Outreach Partnership Program (COPP) and the Full Harvest International N'Crease Ministry will hosts a Ford Amphitheatre Performing Artists Workshop at CEMM, Inc. Headquarters!  Justice United In Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.) will present a "Hip-Hop Break Dancing Workshop" at 7:15 pm Friday 28th September.  Dancers are from the "Breaking The Cypher" Hip-Hop Dance Performance scheduled at the Ford Amphitheatre 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2007.
 
Dr. Clarence E. McClendon, who serves as Chairman Emeritus of Force Of Hope EDC, invites both parents and youth to participate in the events sponsored by the Ford Theatre.  However, understand that space is limited, and workshop performances are available on a first-come / first-serve basis.

Force Of Hope EDC in partnership with ByDesign Financial Solutions has completed the pilot program facilitation of five (5) 2-hour meetings for the Financial Firsts for Teens and Young Adults, beginning 10:00 am - 12:00 noon Wednesday 15 August and ending Thursday 23 August.

ByDesign Financial Solutions provides this special money management course and a facilitator, for free to a limited number youth.  This free training is a $99 value.

The Force Of Hope EDC in partnership with California State Long Beach (CSULB) Masters of Social Work Class have recently completed their Class Project: GOT NEEDS? A Resource Guide To The Essentials; an informational brochure of community resources for emergencies, employment and training, transportation support, hot meals, groceries, mental health and medical referrals, and housing referrals.  The GOT NEEDS? Community Resource Guide will be distributed in September to various community service agencies in the Long Beach / South Bay Area, and will be available at the Force Of Hope EDC office and www.ForceOfHope.org/resources.html  for download.

The FORCE OF HOPE EDC was announced as one of five Intake Centers by the United Job Creation Council during a press conference at Second AME Church Friday 11:00 am 7th September. The UJCC is a collaboration of Churches, Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations, Elected Officials, Construction Trade Unions, and Public Service Agencies.
 
The UJCC is advocating employment and apprenticeship training opportunities in both the City and County of Los Angeles for local residents and the disenfranchised; and working closely with local legislators to advocate and codify a policy of inclusive for all citizens in Southern California for Public Works Projects.  The Intake Centers will receive candidates for Construction Apprenticeship and Trade Opportunities for referrals directly to Unions or Pre-Apprenticeship Training Centers. The five Intake Centers include: Bethel AME Church, City of Refuge & Anchor of Hope, Force Of Hope EDC, Second AME Church, and St. Mark AME Church.  News releases and public service announcements will air on local radio stations to encourage individuals to apply.
